In recent years, Lake Hawassa has been facing increasing pressure on its water resources and ecosystems. To address environmental, economic, and social risks affecting the lake and sub-basin, the Protecting Lake Hawassa Multi-Stakeholder Partnership (PLH-MSP) was established in 2018. Supported by the Natural
Resources Stewardship Programme, the partnership brings together actors from the public sector, private
sector and civil society.
